Beach Saplunara

Beautiful sandy beaches with fine, soft sand on the southern part of the island near the town of troughs.
Saplunara is located on the southeast side of the island. The bay is about one kilometer long, surrounded by pine trees. Sea in the shallow bays Saplunara can reach up to 28 ° C in summer. It has two beautiful sandy beaches called Big Saplunara and Small Saplunara.
The name Saplunara comes from the Latin word sabalum meaning tiny sand. Legend has it that the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked in Saplunara on his way to Rome in 61 AD and spent several months preaching the Gospel. It is likely that he was the one who named this wondrous place name.
